Littlestone-on-sea lifeboat station is one of the RNLI’s 260 country wide facilities to ensure safety in our coastal waters. The crew is formed by local men and women who can, at a moments notice, be prepared to launch and help “Save lives at sea”
The crew are alerted by pagers and mobile phone text messages, and with this alert they assemble at the station, where the details of the incident are passed onto the crew as the boat is launched. From the pagers being activated to the boat being en-route usually takes, on average, around 6-7 minutes, depending on tides and available crew.
